What kind of electricity is needed for dimming glass?
Dimming glass is a new type of special photoelectric glass, also known as electro-optic glass, electrochromic glass, electrically transparent glass, atomized glass, electrically controlled atomized glass, intelligent electrically controlled glass, etc.
As the name suggests, it is a type of glass that uses electricity to control its transparent and opaque states. So what kind of electricity is used for dimming glass?
The development of dimming glass has been very rapid in recent years, and its applications have become very mature. In the process of development, it has been constantly upgraded and replaced. In addition, different manufacturers have different directions for developing LCD dimming films, resulting in the emergence of different types of dimming glass in the market at different times. Although dimming glass has the same appearance, its internal structure is different. In terms of the working voltage used, the common ones in the market are 70V, 65V, 60V, and there are also rare 48V, 36V, 24V, etc. This also indicates that different dimming glasses need to be equipped with corresponding power transformers.
You may wonder why the voltage used for dimming glass is usually around 65V? This is mainly related to the physical properties of polymer liquid crystal molecules in the dimming film. Continuous testing is required to achieve a relatively stable state of liquid crystal molecules, as well as an optimal light transmission effect without the risk of sparking or burning out.
Is there a dimming glass that uses 220V AC or 12V DC? The answer is no. The civilian electricity in our country is 220V AC power, which is internationally known as high voltage (220V-240V). Such a large voltage is not very safe. The 12V car mounted DC power also needs to be converted into the AC power required for dimming glass by an inverter before it can be used. Using lower voltage is safer for people and better in terms of energy conservation. At present, the conventional dimming glass of Times Smart Glass uses 48V AC power, and there are also lower voltage products using 36V to meet the diverse needs of customers.
